Clear Aligners

Clear Aligners at Acton Dental

Are you happy with your smile, or have you ever thought about straightening your teeth? Are your teeth getting crowded and harder to floss and clean? Does your bite feel uneven? If you have asked yourself these questions, you may be a candidate for clear aligners

Orthodontic treatment has come a long way. Gone are the days when traditional metal braces were the only option to straighten teeth. Today you have the option of clear aligner therapy.

What are Clear aligners?

Clear aligners are sequential of transparent thin thermo-formed thermoplastic to reposition the teeth progressively. Corrective force is delivered to straighten the teeth via minor changes in tooth position in each subsequent aligner.

Benefits compared to traditional braces

They are a much more esthetic option than metal braces and dont involve metal wires or brackets. Clear Aligners are nearly invisible, so many people won’t realize you are in treatment. You can also take them out, allowing easy brushing, flossing, and cleanings, which are tasks generally impaired by conventional braces.

Ask about our Night time option.

Most people say they are comfortable wearing their clear aligners during the day and that it doesn’t affect their smile or speech however we now offer clear aligners that can be worn for just 9 hours.  This means you can now wear them just at night, instead of the traditional 22 hours a day.

The process

We start with a digital scan of your teeth and bite. We no longer use the traditional goopy gaggy impressions.  The company we use is Orthofx, and they will create a plan based on an algorithm and the condition of your teeth.  A few days later, you can see an animation of their teeth moving sequentially weekly to see the end result and how long the treatment will take.

Then when the case is approved, OrthoFX will start fabricating your aligners, and we will call you when your clear aligners arrive. For your first appointment, we will try the trays in, and We will show you how to wear them and take care of them. We will then have you take photos through our confidential portal to make sure your teeth are tracking well,  At the end of your treatment, we will scan your newly straightened teeth to make you clear aligner retainers.

We will be with you every step of the way.
